Almost Senegal is the 4th solo project by producer / pianist / songwriter Jason Minnis aka ClassicBeatz. Senegal touches on the themes of love, grief ,anger, loss and triumph through the lens of Pan-Africanism. The name Almost Senegal was inspired by a canceled birthday trip to Dakar Senegal in 2020 due to the covid-19 pandemic. This EP served as a way for Jason to constructively focus his energies while living through turbulent times. Black lives Matter, the loss of his mother, family and fatherhood have heavily influenced this project. Musical features like Big Rube, Edson Sean, Fresh Daily, Sixteenstone and Von Pea help bring this EP home.
